This June I am renewing my lease for the first time ever since moving away from home. Some could say I'm a chronic mover or that I simply cannot settle. While on the surface this may seem to be the case, my mind set behind moving stems from an assortment of logical reasonings... I'll name two.
For one, Denver communities rock and picking one is hard. I am firm believer that you have not lived in Denver, Colorado until you've done a little bouncing around. I can honestly say that every neighborhood I have lived in I have fallen in love with. Though they are all quite different, from Downtown, to Cherry Creek, to Uptown, and now University, each experience has been perfect in it's own way. Second, interior decorating is my favorite, let me repeat, favorite hobby. Aww, the feeling of walking in to an empty home- it's like a blank canvas waiting for me to design. There you have it, the two important reasons why I love to move.
But back to my story. This is year I am not moving simply because I am cozy and broke. However, even though I love my home, it's details, the way I previously arranged it, I need change. Over the course of the next couple months I will highlight inexpensive ways to freshen up a home and make it seem "new" without breaking the bank while my roommates and I go through a bit of transition phase in our house. With any luck this little experiment and challenge I have given myself will pan out. After all, this gives me the opportunity to do more things I love: use spray paint, rearrange furniture, go thrifting, and ahem maybe a little online shopping.
Project #1
To get my wheels turning I have already dreamt up the first project that will be taking place. Currently, on our entry wall there is a buffet style table that sits below a mirror and houses a file basket for mail, keys, and what not. Come June, this piece of furniture will be used to display the TV. This means I will have a beautiful blank wall (and I sequel)! For years I have been trying to convince myself to make picture-less frame wall decor. Well my friends, there truly is no time like the present. Below is a picture of what I hope to soon be in the entry way of my home.
Though progress might be slow, I will keep you posted!
