case of the "same old, same old" routine

I realize that while I have not been blogging for that long, I am currently doing a terrible job at posting on a regular basis. That being said, today I am going above and beyond. I want to write something with meaning, something that will touch someone, even if that someone is just myself.

-It is time to start anew. Time to get rid of the “same old, same old” routine and actually take a stance in my life. I often wonder how many times in one day I complain. I complain about the people around me. I complain about the homework I have yet to do. I complain about not having enough money. I complain about my figure. I complain, and I complain, and hey come to think of it, I complain.

To top all of this complaining off, I tell myself tomorrow will be different. Yep, that’s it; tomorrow I will be patient with my friends. Tomorrow I will do my homework in the morning; tomorrow I’ll get ahead in school. Tomorrow I won’t purchase anything; I will use what I’ve got. And tomorrow I will eat healthy, tomorrow I will work out.

Tomorrow is followed by another tomorrow and the monotony continues on. So here I sit, trying to figure out what will cause a change, what will make a difference. The bottom-line simply that “same old, same old” won’t work for me anymore. My mindset must shift, my attitude improve. Negative or  “complainy” people make terrible company. That’s not who I want to be.

I have decided to make a list. Here is what I believe will improve my life and the person I am over all. Life is good. It’s time I took the steps to make it incredible.

1. Work efficiently. Whatever task is at hand needs to be my focus.
2. Find the good in every situation I encounter.
3. Make better choices. Be educated, not just sporadic.
4. Don’t rely on luck; I must learn to work harder.
5. Appreciate people. I have amazing people in my life.
6. Budget. Budget my time, my money, and balance out what is important and where my true needs exist.
7. Accept that not everything is going to be perfect.
8. Wake up. There will plenty of time to sleep after my youth.
9. Make time for the things I truly love, like sitting in the sunshine.
10. Be kinder.
